BU Today reported that Men’s basketball coach Pat Chambers is leaving the University and has accepted the position of head coach at Penn State.  Coach Chambers is credited with taking the Terriers to the NCAA tournament this year and having a 42-28 record during his tenure.  Chambers came to BU from Villanova, where he was assistant coach, in 2009NittanyWhiteOut reflected on Chambers’ career at BU via an interview with the Daily Free Press‘ new sports editor, and sports blogger, Craig Meyer: “He constantly harped on the importance of the team and coaching staff being like a family, and thinking of it that way, Chambers was much like the father — he kept order and was hard on his players when needed, but he did it for all the right reasons, namely that he cared so much for his guys.”
